Good Luck To All
Semi-Finalists!!!
There’s an old adage about making a silk purse out of a
great without the proper ingredients. So what do you do
heyday come and gone, and want to bring it back to its
former glory…and beyond? Well, you do what Vince
Liberto and Nick Kats did when they opened Bobby
McGee’s Good Times Pub in south suburban Chicago
Ridge this past October. Bringing to the table extensive
knowledge and experience in operating successful
eating/drinking/nightlife venues (they also own and
operate the Bobby McGee’s and Bada Brew in Crest Hill,
Simpson’s down near UIC in Chicago, and formerly
operated Oasis 160), the partners gutted this former
“indie rock” club, gave it a top-notch front-to-back
renovation, and have turned the new Bobby McGee’s
into THE place to party on the South Side.
Their goal is to provide their patrons every possible
convenience and method to have a great time. Pool
tables, electronic games, and darts are all ready to let
you vent out your competitive spirit. Eleven hi-definition
televisions are strategically placed throughout the room
to catch the hottest sporting and pay-per-view events.
And, if they weren’t enough, there’s also two 115”
projection tv’s as well (they are said to be the largest in
the area). For your everyday listening pleasure, their
internet jukebox is available to cover just about any
genre and style of music. But where Bobby McGee’s
REALLY excels is their live entertainment. From the
hottest DJ’s around spinning club hits and mixes to keep
the dance floor slamming every Wednesday and Friday,
the best karaoke nights in town on Thursdays, to the
absolute BEST in local, regional, and national live bands
performing on their brand-new stage every Saturday
night. Even though there isn’t a bad seat in the house,
more often than not no one is sitting, but rather showing
off their moves on the dance floor under the state-of-the-
art lighting system, crowded around the stage cheering
on the bands, or simply mingling around the bar with old
and new friends.
Realizing that these tough economic times take their toll
on our entertainment dollars, they have put together a
selection of drink specials that are easy on the wallet.
On Mondays, import drafts are $2.75, Tuesdays feature
$3 U-Call-It Bombs, and Wednesdays are $1 domestic
bottle nights. On Thursday they feature karaoke with DJ
Mike and UV Bombs and Corona’s for $2 and $3 Long
Islands. Every Friday it’s $2 Mickey’s and $4 Finlandia
cocktails, and $2.25 drafts on Saturdays. Sundays you
can enjoy their $4 Absolute Bloody Mary Bar and $4
pitchers. And be sure to check out the famous Bobby
McGee’s 32oz Mason Jar drinks!!!
Their new kitchen will be open in the near future, and
patrons will be able to choose from a large number of
tasty, freshly-made food items. Everything from
appetizers to homemade pizzas, sandwiches to hearty
Mexican and American favorites! There are over 40
items on the menu, including the house specialty, the
“Panzerotti”, a homemade pizza turnover packed with
your choice of delectable fillings.
When you call yourself the “Good Times Pub”, you
better be able to back it up. And The new Bobby McGee’
s DELIVERS THE GOODS!!
