Good Luck To All
Semi-Finalists!!!
At first thought, naming a new bar “The Dirty
Sock” would seem like an idea out of left field.
But to ardent White Sox fans and co-owners
Chuck Bosgraaf and Jeff Geras, the name was
a solid shot over the center field fence. A sly
reference to the infamous “Black Sox
Scandal” and it’s new- millennium vindication
with the World Series title, it’s also a name patrons
won’t soon forget! Formerly the site of a Chinese
restaurant, they have put together a
comfortable and casual eating and drinking
establishment that throws a perfect game every
time out. The partners wanted to make food a top
priority. They focused their attention on putting
together a distinctive and attention-grabbing menu
of BIG sandwiches, salads, appetizers and pizza.
Did I mention the sandwiches were BIG?? Take,
for example, the “Fat Chuckie” which weighs in
at a full pound of beef, the ¾ lb. Patty Melt, and
the “Dirty Bird” grilled chicken sandwich which
tops the 16oz mark. Quality and quantity are hard
to argue with. They even have a live Lobster Grab
machine, where $2 gets you a shot at snagging
yourself a tasty shellfish, which they will cook for
your enjoyment! And the kitchen is open from 11
a.m. until 9 p.m. every day. After 9, you can still
order Doreen’s Pizza until closing.
The Dirty Sock caters to its beer drinkers in
a big way, too!! Their latest serving container
is called the “Vessel”, which holds four full
pitchers of beer. “Towers” and “Party Kegs” will
also quench a table’s worth of thirst in fine style. They
carry a well-stocked assortment of domestic and
imported beers on tap and in bottles, and all
the latest shots and specialty drinks. They
feature food and drink specials daily. Entertainment
of all types abound. Sports fans are
well-serviced, with 13 televisions installed
amongst the three rooms (each with its own
bar) that make up The Dirty Sock. Wednesdays are
Karaoke night (9 p.m. to
1a.m.), They have a party room, which
is available for all types of functions. When you add in
their friendly and
attractive servers and bartenders, it’s obvious that The
Dirty Sock is making
a clean sweep of the Series!!!
Hours of Operation: 7 days a
week 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
